CNIB Post-Secondary Scholarships
Deadline: July 3, 2024
Award Amount: Various Awards available, worth anywhere between $250-$5000
Who can apply?
- CNIB post-secondary scholarships are awarded to Canadian students who are blind or partially sighted to pursue post-secondary studies
- To be considered eligible for a CNIB post-secondary scholarship, you must be:
- Blind or partially sighted (less than 20/70 corrected vision)
- A secondary school graduate entering post-secondary education
- A Canadian citizen, or have held landed immigrant status for one year prior to the date of application
- Highly motivated, independent and able to demonstrate a reasonable level of personal achievement
What will I have to do?
- Proof of secondary education completion (interim)

- Letter of acceptance from an accredited postsecondary institution, college or university
- At least two letters of reference from a teacher, school official or volunteer supervisor

Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers National Scholarship
Deadline: July 7, 2024
Award Amount: One award worth $15,000, four regional awards, two for high school, two for post-secondary, worth $3,250
Who can apply?
- Grade 11 or 12 students anywhere in the world
- Applicants must be Canadian residents studying in Canada
- All graduating high school students must be enrolled or expected to enroll in a post-secondary program of at least 2 years
- College/University students must be enrolled in at least one more year of study as of the current year
- Applicants must be working for a current CFIG member (retail, associate, affiliate) or be a family member of an employee of a current CFIG member
What will I have to do?
- Write a 1,000-word essay or a 10 minute or less video, with proper referencing on the following question: The ‘quiet resignation’ phase has impacted all industries and labour forces, including grocery. Please provide a minimum of 3 tactics or ideas that both retailers and manufacturers can implement to ensure long term employee loyalty and retention while ensuring they remain committed to product quality and customer service
- Submit a list of academic achievements, awards, and extra-curricular activities
- Submit an official grade transcript of your last completed year

Westland Foundation Scholarships
Deadline: July 31, 2024
Award Amount: Varies
Who can apply?
- Students who have completed Grade 7 to 12 in any inner-Winnipeg schools
- Students can still avail the scholarship up to 30 months from the date of their Grade 12 graduation
- Be attending Red River Polytech, University of Winnipeg or University of Manitoba
What will I have to do?
- Have a copy of your official Transcript of Records from Grade 7 to 12 (and report cards for applicants that may not have their Grade 7 and 8 marks in their Transcripts of Records)
- Use a marker to highlight your eligible marks, count them, and take note of the total count:
- If applying toward RRC Polytech, highlight your 70% and higher final marks for each subject taken from Grade 7 to 12 inner-Winnipeg schools. You will be asked to provide us with the total count through the online form. The total count will determine your scholarship amount
- If applying toward the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg, highlight your 80% and higher final marks for each subject taken from Grade 7 to 12 inner-Winnipeg schools. You will be asked to provide us with the total count through the online form. The total count will determine your scholarship amount
- Scan your Transcript of Records (and report cards). Name the file with your last name followed by a comma then your first name (ex. Smith, Amanda) and save it as ONE PDF
- Complete the application form
- Upload the scanned copy of your highlighted Official Grade 7 to 12 Transcripts of Records (and report cards) as one file attachment to the application form
