Cycling in the Community
July 20, 2022
Along with 60 other students and staff from Gordon Bell and Hugh John MacDonald schools, a group from General Wolfe joined a Land-Based Education bike ride on May 10. They rode from General Wolfe to Hugh John to The Forks and then to the Manitoba Legislature. They were escorted the entire way by a friendly group of community police officers. Students felt tired but accomplished at the end of their ride. The day provided a great opportunity for a large group of cyclists to briefly take over the streets of Winnipeg, develop camaraderie amongst new friends, all while getting fresh air and exercise. The next opportunity for students to join a land-based bike ride will take place on June 7 for Clean Air Day at Assiniboine Park.
