School Registration Information

Winnipeg School Division will be accepting conditional student applications for the 2024/2025 school year. This will only apply to resident students new to WSD or transferring to another school within division.
Please fill out the Student Application for Registration form, print and sign and then email them directly to the school.
All applications for resident students will only be accepted conditionally until all documentation confirming the information below has been received.
If you are unable to print or scan the forms, please contact the school via email at gboffice@wsd1.org or by phone at 204-774-5401. Schools are checking emails and voice messages on a daily basis.
Students new to WSD or transferring within WSD:
- Student's legal full name
- Date of birth
- Sex (as indicated on birth certificate or equivalent documentation)
- Citizenship (Immigration documentation will be required)
- Current school attended
- Grade
- Current address
- Primary phone number
- Email address
- Name of legal guardian and relationship to student
- Does student live with guardian(s) as identified (custody orders are required)
Non-Resident Students:
Please contact the school directly as Schools of Choice guidelines apply as per the Winnipeg School Division Policy JEC - School Admissions/Schools of Choice. Acceptance is based on numerous factors including program and grade request, space availability and class size.
Non-resident students must fill out a Non-Resident Student Application Form AND a Student Application for Registration Form.

Online Pre-registration 2024 - 2025: Information, Instructions and Important Documents
The grade 8 preregistrations (grade 7 going to grade 8) will occur on February 20, 2024 AM.
The grade 9 preregistrations (grade 8 going to grade 9) will occur on February 20, 2024 PM.
Students will be pre-registering online on the WSD1 portal for option classes only. There will be a short write up of the options classes to choose from. We will be printing the option form for parents/guardians to sign.
To ensure the students have their option classes honoured .
The due date for grade 7 students going into grade 8 and grade 8 students going into grade 9 to return their form is February 21, 2024.
Grade 9 to 12 Preregistrations will begin with a grade level assembly on February 12, 2024.
(E.A.L. students will have a presentation in class on February 14, 2024.)

The purpose of the assemblies will be to discuss courses available at Gordon Bell. Students will be given a Course Pre-Selection Planning Sheet. Students are encouraged to speak with their teachers and parent(s) / guardian(s) and refer to the following documents on the school’s website to assist in course selection:

Important Information for All current Students
- Students are encouraged to speak with their teachers as well as parent(s) / guardian(s) and refer to the support documents below to assist in course selection.
- Senior High Students (Grades 10 – 12) will be called to pre-register for the 2024 – 2025 school year between Wednesday, February 14th and Friday, February 16th in the computer lab or their classroom. An all call will be made on Tuesday, February 20th for any students who may have been absent on those dates.
- Upon completion of pre-registration on the computer, all students will be given a printed copy of their registration package that needs to be signed and dated on every page by the parent/guardian or 18+ student.
- Please be sure to go over the address and contact information and make any changes with a pen prior to returning the pre-registration package.
- The signed pre-registration package must be returned to the main office no later than Wednesday, February 21st. All students who return their signed pre-registration package by this date will be entered for a raffle and be eligible to win some amazing prizes!
- Please note that a student is not officially registered until this signed paperwork is received.
- By signing a pre-registration package and returning it to the school, it will save valuable time.
- Leaving registration for the 2024-2024 school year until August or September, will mean that students will need to provide a proof of residence in order to register. Courses that they need or want may also be full at that time.
