Hello Inkster families,

Our Student Leadership team is collecting items to help Willow Place, an emergency shelter for women and children, and K9 Advocates Manitoba, an animal-rescue organization. There will be prizes for classrooms, posters in the hallway, and great excitement as we do our best to support these two amazing groups! Support Willow Place! Leadership students are putting together a Coin Drive! Students and Staff can bring coins every day to try and fill up their classroom’s bucket. Whichever class collects the most money, and whichever class collects the money that weighs the most, will win prizes! Some money raised will go to pay for supplies to make Crafting Kits for children at Willow Place, who are usually between infants and twelve years old. All the rest of the money will go 2/3 to Willow Place and 1/3 to K9 Advocates MB. Support K9 Advocates MB! Macie and Yzzy have taken a look at the wish list from K9 Advocates MB, and narrowed it down to one item: clean blankets, sheets, and towels. In order to reward people from our school we’ve decided to set up a fun challenge between classrooms of the school: the classroom that donates the most clean blankets, sheets, and towels wins a prize!

WHAT:

Coin Drive – any Canadian bills and coins (except pennies) 

Blanket/Towel/Sheet Drive – clean items only, gently used is fine 

WHEN:

Dec.6 - Dec.17 – bring coins and/or blankets to donate 

Dec.20-21 – no more donations; Leadership counts up total items and money raised

Dec.22 – winning classrooms announced, prize packs distributed after lunch

WHERE:

Bring coins and blankets to your classroom 

Coins go in the classroom’s coin bucket

Blankets will go into the school’s Blanket Box after you get a poster tag from your teacher
