William Cyprian Pinkham

Pinkham School was so named in honor of Manitoba’s first Superintendent of Education, Reverend William Cyprian Pinkham, later Bishop Pinkham.

Reverend Pinkham was appointed a member of the Council of Education, the following year he became the first superintendent, a post he held for 12 years. In 1887, he resigned his post as Superintendent to become Bishop of Saskatchewan, and later Bishop of Calgary. He remained in active service until the age of 82, two years before his death in 1928.
