Grades 11 and 12 PE/HE Active Healthy Lifestyles
G. McMillan and M. Steeves
This is a full-credit COMPULSORY course necessary for graduation. Grades 11 and 12 students will be graded for completion of courses using complete/incomplete designations rather than percentages.
At St. John’s High School, we are incorporating the 50/50 model. The core component is the “in class” material and constitutes 25% of the course. The physical activity practicum is 50% of the course, and the remaining 25% is the flexible delivery component.
Students are responsible for achieving the identified learning outcomes, regardless of the delivery model used. In order to demonstrate understanding of these learning outcomes, attendance in class is required.
As evidence for demonstrating progress and achievement of the learning outcomes related to the physical activity practicum, students are required to submit a personal fitness portfolio. In order to complete some of the requirements for this portfolio, access to a computer is crucial. Listed below, in Excel format, are some of the required documents necessary for completion and documentation. Please remember to save your files so that you can e-mail or submit to your teacher as evidence of completion.
