Gordon Bell and Buckets & Borders Public Kick Off — September 25, 2026

Gordon Bell High School is celebrating the official opening of its new outdoor basketball court on Friday, Sept. 25. Student activities are planned throughout the afternoon followed by a community celebration from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Created in partnership with Buckets & Borders and with support from Winnipeg Sea Bears, the new court is inspired by Gordon Bell students, whose sketches, words, and colour choices helped shape the final design by Buckets & Borders.

The artwork centres on Gordon Bell’s mascot – the panther – and the school’s signature purple and yellow. The teal is a nod to Winnipeg Sea Bears’ support for the project. The result is a bold and brave basketball court that reflects the school, its students, and the surrounding community.

Students, staff, family, friends, alumni, and the community are welcome to join the celebration starting at 4:30 p.m. Enjoy some music, a three-point competition, giveaways, followed by a Local Winnipeg All-Star Game at 6 p.m.
