Luke Santi Memorial Award for Student Achievement

Eligibility: 

• Academic success in the last year of secondary studies - a minimum 80% average overall is required as shown in copies of official high school transcripts.
• Demonstrated passion for physics outside of the normal academic environment (e.g. being a member of a local amateur astronomy club, volunteering with a physics association)
• Demonstrated interest in a wide range of activities outside of physics (e.g. community involvement, sports, debating clubs, etc., including volunteer activities in service of others)
• Minimum of two letters of recommendation by a teacher, principal, professor or association leader (not a relative). The letters of reference will assist the selection committee in establishing the applicant’s participation and achievement in the life and activities of their school and/or community; participation in a physics stream of study; nature of the participant’s character, personal qualities and temperament, etc.

CBC Poetry Prize

The CBC Poetry Prize is a literary award for applicants to submit an original, unpublished poem or collection of poems. The submission will be judged as a whole and must be a maximum of 600 words (including titles). There is no minimum word requirement.

The grand prize winner will receive $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts, a two-week writing residency at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity and their work will be published on CBC Books. Four finalists each receive $1,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts and their work is also published on CBC Books.

Eligibility: Applicants must be:

• In good academic standing
• Canadian citizens, landed immigrants, or Permanent Resident
• Students graduating from secondary (high) school or students completing their first year of CÉGEP or students who have completed secondary (high) school
• Involved in voluntary humanitarian activities (for which they have not been compensated)
• Planning to or are already studying towards their first university degree or diploma at a Canadian post-secondary institution or entering their 2nd year of CÉGEP in the upcoming academic year

University of Manitoba Indigenous Leader of Tomorrow Scholarship

Deadline:  December 1, 2026

Award amount: Up to $16,000

Eligibility: 

• Students who are Indigenous (Status, Non-Status, Métis, Inuit);
• Have achieved a high school average of at least 90 percent calculated on the basis of results in English 30S or Français 30S and Anglais 30S, Mathematics 30S (either pre-calculus 30S or applied 30S only), the highest marks in three of Biology 30S, Chemistry 30S, Physics 30S, History 30S, Geography 30S, or a language at the 30S level other than those accepted for (a) above;
• Have demonstrated evidence of leadership qualities and future potential; have demonstrated evidence of a high level of communication skills
• Have a record of community involvement (e.g., school, local community, city-wide, regional, national, international)
• Have demonstrated evidence of special abilities other than those shown by academic results (e.g., artistic, athletic, or linguistic skills, literary accomplishments)
• Have completed a University of Manitoba application for admission by the December 1 deadline, including payment of application fee

North American Van Lines Logistics Scholarship Competition

Eligibility: 

• Canadian Citizen (or permanent resident).
• Enrolled (or enrolling) as full time student at an accredited college/university within a Canadian province, for completion of undergraduate degree in Logistics or equivalent field.
• Limit of one (1) entry per contestant.
• Employees and professional affiliates of North American Van Lines (and their immediate families) are not eligible.
• The applicant must comply with CRA rules to qualify for the tax-free benefits of the scholarship, please see the rules here.

Allied Van Lines Scholarship

Storwell Bursary

Deadline: December 31, 2026

Eligibility: 

• Applicant must have been a foster child with an official Canadian or American foster care program and agrees to having the above organization verify the same. Youth who were involved in kinship care or other alternative living situations can also receive consideration for this award.
• Youth who were part of a Children’s Aid Society (CAS) agency or similar program will also be eligible to apply for this award.
• Applicant will be enrolled as a full-time student at a recognized general/ vocational College or post-secondary institution in Canada or USA by the start of the next school semester.
• Applicant must be a Canadian or American Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Applicant must be 24 years of age or less at the time of application.

Heer Law Entrepreneurship Scholarship

Heer Law helps students who have great entrepreneurial ideas. They help young entrepreneurs who lack personal funds combined with educational costs that can seriously stall the progress they make in moving their business ideas forward.

Eligibility: 

• Must be currently attending university or college or set to attend during the 2025-2026 academic year
• Must be in good standing with their current or prospective institution
• Must apply via email and provide their name, address, university or college, major and expected graduation month and year
• Provide their application (a business plan for their current or prospective business which includes a section outlining intellectual property strategy) by December 31, 2025
